New innovation platform accelerates transition to a better world
The Netherlands: a small country with an international impact
Amsterdam, 15 March 2016 - Today we launch a new online platform that presents a unique selection of the most notable innovators from the Netherlands (Holland). Our Dutch Innovators project shows sustainable and social solutions that contribute to a better world, offering products and services with a positive, worldwide impact, such as the world’s first ethical smartphone, sustainable banking services, and a mobile office to work in nature. Dutch Innovators wants to inspire by sharing meaningful information and thus accelerate the transition to a more balanced world. The Netherlands is a small European country, yet it has a long history of exploration and invention, sending its explorers all over the world, founding New York City, and trading with exotic countries such as Japan and Indonesia. In today’s modern world, with its wide-ranging economic, social and environmental challenges, the Dutch still discover ways of introducing innovation and entrepreneurship to help create to a better world. Eco-consultant Robbert Zoon launched Dutch Innovators with the support of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, part of the Dutch Department of Economic Affairs. As part of his efforts, Zoon has already introduced sustainable Dutch products and services to the US market and elsewhere in the world. During these trips Robbert noted that sustainable and innovative developments in his home country are seen as very progressive elsewhere. He now wants to build greater awareness of these innovations through his new website and social media. ”With my selection of Dutch Innovators I want to inspire millions of people and companies and show them that there are innovative ways to contribute to a better world. We are facing serious global challenges and Dutch Innovators can offer a practical solution.” More information: The Dutch Innovators website and latest innovation news: dutch-innovators.com Short videos of the work of a few Dutch Innovators:
